Care Guide

Azalea prefers stability and cool conditions — it will then bloom abundantly. 1. Light: bright, diffused, without direct sunlight. Ideal — an east- or north-facing window. 2. Temperature: cool (12–18 °C), especially in winter to set the buds. 3. Watering: regular, with soft water. The soil should be kept constantly slightly moist, but not wet. Do not allow it to dry out. 4. Humidity: high. Mist the leaves and place the pot on a tray with wet pebbles. 5. Soil: acidic (pH 4–5), a special potting mix for azaleas. 6. Fertilizing: once every 2 weeks from spring to autumn with a rhododendron fertilizer (lime-free). 7. Pruning: after flowering remove faded blooms and pinch back shoots to encourage bushiness. 8. Repotting: every 2–3 years after flowering, carefully, without damaging the roots.
