Chamaedorea is a miniature clumping palm from the moist tropical forests of Central and South America. As a houseplant it typically ranges from 50 cm to 1.5 meters in height. The plant forms slender, bamboo-like cane stems topped with lacy, pinnate dark-green leaves. It flowers even when young, producing yellow, fluffy inflorescences reminiscent of mimosa; however, the flower stalks are often removed to conserve the plant's energy.

Chamaedorea is an elegant, slow-growing house palm ideal for adding greenery. For successful care, provide bright, indirect light (no direct rays), a moderate temperature (+18...+24°C) and regular watering without waterlogging.
