Chamaedorea is a miniature clumping palm from the humid tropical forests of Central and South America. In cultivation its height usually ranges from 50 cm to 1.5 meters. The plant forms thin, bamboo-like cane stems topped with lacy, pinnate dark green leaves. It blooms even when young, producing yellow, fluffy inflorescences reminiscent of mimosa; however, to conserve the plant's energy the flower stalks are often removed.

Care Guide

Chamaedorea is an elegant, slow-growing indoor palm, ideal for adding greenery. For successful care, provide bright, indirect light (no direct sunlight), a moderate temperature (+18…+24°C), and regular watering without waterlogging. The plant needs periodic misting to prevent spider mite infestations.
