Yucca repotted into a beige cachepot

Yucca is an evergreen plant of the Asparagaceae family, known for its stiff, sword-shaped leaves gathered in rosettes at the top of the trunk; it resembles a miniature palm and is valued for its decorative appearance and undemanding nature, and it blooms with large, bell-shaped white flowers on a tall flower stalk, forming an impressive inflorescence. The plant is native to North and Central America, stores water in its trunk, is drought-tolerant and prefers plenty of light, and its roots contain beneficial saponins.

Basic care requirements Light: Very light-loving. South- and west-facing windows are ideal, bright, diffused light, but without harsh midday sun. Temperature: Summer +20-28°C, in winter cool +10-15°C (not below 5°C), during the dormant period. Watering: Moderate, allow the soil to dry out by 2-3 cm or deeper. Reduce watering in winter. Better drought than overwatering (root rot). Air: Prefers dry air, but can be misted periodically (with warm, standing water) and the leaves wiped of dust, avoiding direct sunlight. Fertilizing: Spring–summer, every 2-4 weeks, with balanced fertilizers for succulents or palms. Do not fertilize in winter. Repotting: Every 2-3 years in spring, into loose, well-draining soil for cacti or palms. Drainage: Required at the bottom of the pot to avoid waterlogging.
