Cactus is a succulent plant of the family Cactaceae, known for its ability to store water and adapted to arid conditions, with spines instead of leaves, popular as a houseplant because of its low maintenance and variety of forms. It is a perennial native to the Americas, symbolizing resilience and longevity. There are many species of cacti, which are divided into desert (with stiff spines) and forest (requiring different care) types, differ in size, color and growth rate, and their care includes bright light, infrequent watering and loose soil.
